![]() ![]() January February March April May June July August September October November DecemberMARCH 2007In March, we did hit a higher paying day than February, however not by much. Many different tactics were tried this month to increase click revenue, but I feel like I am hitting a plateau when it comes to traffic and keyword payout. My excitement grew as my pageviews appeared to be growing the first of the month through mid month. Then I experienced more traditional numbers as the month finished up along with lack luster earnings. Click for full screen ![]() March 10th, after a 5 dollar day I decided to try and blend my ads so that the text was the same color as the banner, my click through rate dropped the next few days reflecting a lower earnings so after a few days, this change was undone. Currently, the default colors Google chooses appears to be working the best for my main site. Upon reading an article about the bid gap, I realized this explains my findings in February. Even after adding many pages of content and maxing the 3 ads on each page yielded about the same income per day. So, the most significant change I made for March is removing the bottom 720 x 90 banner on the bottom of all pages. This banner was also performing the worst for my site, so I decided this would be a good move. Did it make any significant impact in earnings immediately? The answer is no, let see after some time passes but about week after removing the ad still about the same results. Now most of my pages are displaying one large tower ad, and one smaller box ad or small banner. ![]() In March, you can notice an upward trend in earnings, however progess is very slow. When I log in to check my account it is easy to get disgusted. I have to remind myself that it will take time and I did not even know what adsense was 3 months ago. I received my first hate mail since adding the advertising, it said "This site is made for adsense and it sucks. Explicit You". I sure hope others that visit do not feel that way, actually this site has been online years before adsense existed so that statement is definetly not true. ![]() My traffic again has slowly grew through February and March. If I can keep my pageviews on an upward trend over time this will help build my adsense earnings. The more traffic, the more money, period. My Asrep software sent me approximately 4 notifications of people that clicked ads 5 times in less than an hour, I forwarded one to Adsense to confirm if this was valid activity. I received an email pretty much saying that it was valid. It did make me realize how some people are "click happy" and enjoy seeing where all your ad links go. Another thing I picked up in March was the use of a Keyword Selector Tool. This powerful tool allows you to customize your page names and titles to highly searched terms therefore having the best chance of a good placement in search engines. In closing for March, the highlite was I received my first EFT from Google in the amount of $240 for January and February's earnings but that does not pay for cost I have incurred quite yet with this project. Slowly my page views are growing and although my earnings are pretty sporadic, I definetly hope to start nearing $20 a day in April. I am halfway into completion on my next site Texas Barbecue Food. My plan next month is complete this site and work on getting some linkbacks to draw the Google traffic. If anyone would like to help and provide a link, please link to www.riversideq.com with the anchoring text of Texas Barbecue Food. My wife and I ran a Barbecue restaurant last year so we do have a little insight in the subject. Thanks for keeping up with the project, that is if anyone is even listening. My email is patrick@greatadsense.net and we will talk to you in May with the results from April! Take me to April stats!
